Rock Creek Park Nature Center and Planetarium

We have wanted to visit the Rock Creek Park Nature Center and the associated planetarium for quite a while.  Now that we are just a few minutes from it, we decided to try it out.  Overall, it didn't live up to the hype.  Fairfax has a lot of nice nature centers that are just as nice.   To be fair, this is a good nature center, but not any better than others in the area.

The planetarium did not have many exhibits and looked dated.  We're glad we decided to go to the Einstein Planetarium at the Smithsonian instead -- it was amazing.

The kids were captivated by the bald eagle.  We actually saw a bald eagle flying over the Capitol several months ago.  They are amazing birds.

Apparently, there are many pileated woodpeckers in the park.
