Baking Italian Pugliese

I love baking bread -- I just don't do it often or well. Hopefully a little practice will help.

Carson helped me bake an Italian Pugliese with black olives. It was fun to make, but a little rushed. I didn't have time to let it rise enough. The batteries on my scale died half way through, so we ended up measuring by volume.

Overall, it was a little on the dry side and could have used a little more olive flavor. But it was a good start.

Turning 4 -- Carson's Birthday Party

We had a small get-together at my parents house for Carson's birthday. Carson was really looking forward to it and had a great time. The cake turned out SOOO good too -- we got a Baskin Robbins Fudge Crunch cake.
We were fortunate enought to have as guests:
My Parents
Teresa
Sofia, Jody, Christina & Maria
Lance, Kristel, Alyssa, Isaac & Jacob
Nathan, Joanna, Eliza & Ray
Thanks for coming!

Carson City Train Museum

My Grandfather worked as a telegrapher for the railroad many years ago. He and my Aunt Anita have been sharing pictures and stories with the Carson City Train Museum, gaining our family a private invitation to the preparation and a ride of an old Virginia & Truckee Railroad engine.

It was neat live some of my Grandfather's past and hear his stories. He was so excited!

It made a great start to the day of Carson's birthday party.

Still as a statue

I (obviously) thought this was so funny. Of course, you think things are funnier when they involve your own kids. oh yeah, and it's very cute, too.
